OVM boats on tour | “Taeke Hadewych”
A long held dream has become reality for the owner of “Taeke Hadewych”. He has sailed her single handed to Thyborøn, something he had looked forward to for a long time, but also saw as a major challenge.
After making his way through the Limfjord, with periods of very strong wind along the way, he has now reached the eastern side. He will wait for the next spell of heavy weather to pass before continuing to Copenhagen in one 24 hour passage. There, his wife will join him for four weeks of sailing. After that, another four weeks of solo sailing still await.
For “Taeke Hadewych”, Team OVM created a completely new interior, incorporating modern comfort and up-to-date technical systems while respecting the character of the yacht. We also optimised her rudder to improve her steering and sailing characteristics.
The owner specifically mentioned how important the new autopilot system has been during this journey. It makes the yacht easier to operate, adds an important level of safety and is one of the key systems that makes short-handed and solo sailing possible.
